Health Care Reform - How About Some Communication

It appears that the Democrats are struggling to figure out how they can create health care reform within the limitation's President Obama has put on them. Those without insurance need access immediately. The cost can not add to the deficit. If the funding does not work, and all the savings do not appear that the President states are there if Medicare and Medicaid are managed properly, then cuts will need to be made.

Come on,the Democrats do not know how to cut spending. The Republicans aren't too good at it either.

As I stated earlier, Obama needs to draw up his own plan, with all of the specifics highlighted and easy to read. Then his team can take the proposal to Congress and the haggling can begin.

The President needs to wake up to the fact that for all of their talk, Congress, and I mean all sides, really do not want to tackle health care reform. There are too many issues to resolve, to many interested parties to appease and too little guarantee of success.

If President Obama truly wants health care reform during his term, then he has to take the ball and run with it. I believe that if he can present a clear cut plan, the Democrats will support it, for party loyalty if no other reason. If President Obama uses his charm and compromises with the Republicans, especially on tort reform, then I think enough of them will get in step for the measure to pass.

Thus far the President has been a lot of talk, but has delegated the hard work to Congress. He needs to take control, make his pitch and press hard for passage.

This is the first major challenge of his his administration. Now we will have the opportunity to see if he is truly a leader, or just another weak kneed politician looking for scapegoats to lay the blame on.

The near future should give us an answer.

Its Common Sense!
